Making plans

Hello!

Happy New Year (I think we can still say that towards the end of January). I hope 2026 has gotten off to a good start for you.

I'm sorry it's been such a long time since my last newsletter. Following your replies to my December email (about how detailed reflection underpins the most fulfilling career plans), I've been busy creating something for you all to benefit from.

It's taken a bit of putting together - hence the delay in this email - but it's ready to go now :-)

Let me explain...

A time to reflect

In order to make a truly fulfilling forward-looking career plan, you need a solid understanding of yourself (strengths, passions, personality etc) and of your career to date (good bits, bad bits etc). That was the subject of my last newsletter.

Many of you replied to that email and said how much this advice resonated with you.

However, you all asked if I could share some frameworks you could use, in order to do that reflection systematically and take the guesswork away.

3 frameworks

The simple answer is, yes. I have some great frameworks, and I'm happy to share them with you.

Last year, 100s of people benefited from these through my career-planning programme.

The frameworks are my:

  1. Career Wheel - 9 dimensions on which to assess your career to date & understand what elements you want to retain and what you want to change.
  2. Career Navigator - a 4 zone method to identify and prioritise what's most important to you now & to reprioritise as things change in the future.
  3. Self-profiling - a scientific understanding of your personality, behaviour & emotions to illuminate the environments which bring the best out of you.

Done together, they help you to become totally clear on the right career objectives for you, as you look to the future.

Understanding the frameworks

These frameworks all take a bit of explaining in order to get the most out of them.

So I've decided to run a free masterclass - which you can either join live or access via the recording - to introduce you to them.

I'll also be joined by Sam, who is an expert in the behavioural science that underpins the profiling.

In the masterclass, we'll be:

  • Explaining how to get the most out of the Career Wheel & Career Navigator.
  • Sharing templates & detailed instructions, so you can do both of these exercises in your own time.
  • Showing you around the "self-profiling" report, which covers 14 different dimensions of the environments that will suit you best.

Joining the free masterclass

The masterclass is totally free & anonymous.

You can either watch & listen live or catch up via the recording, which I'll email following the session.

To join the session and/or receive the recording, please register your interest via the link here.

The session takes place this Thursday, 29th January at 13:00 UK time. But if you can't join live, that's fine - simply register via the same link, and you'll receive the recording.

Sam and I are very much looking forward to sharing these 3 frameworks with you.

Thank you to everyone who replied to my last email and sowed the seed from which this session has come into being.

All the best,

Rich
